The Unthanks

Proposed designs which were a response to The Unthanks music and background. The Unthanks, An English folk group from Northumberland, a county in the North East of England that shares a North Sea coastline of outstanding natural beauty.
The coastal and land regions are full of remarkable plants, stones and shells decorated across the landscape, creating a unique place that is connected to The Unthanks. The illustrations used represent significant individual shells that have been taken from an extensive collection, and can be seen upon the Northumberland beaches, rivers and lakes. The specific Index number has been taken from the collection observed and is a classification that reflects the state of conchological knowledge.
